SUPAR's Water Smell Test
Students from SUPAR High School went to Discovery World once per week for several months. They worked to develop a "Water Smell Test."
The big question - would the general public be able to identify Milwaukee tap water by smell alone.
The audience was asked to smell 3 different water samples:
1) Milwaukee tap water
2) Water from Lake Michigan
3) Pryor Avenue Iron Well (Bayview)
After smelling all three samples, they had to guess which was tap water. Everyone could identify the well water, but it was tricky to tell the difference between the tap and lake water - both smelled pretty fresh!
The moral of the story: Milwaukee water is clean!
